With profound sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Yasmine Kenzi Boukhriss on July 7, 2025.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on April 30, 2000, Yasmine was a bright and compassionate soul from the very beginning. She attended W.H. Taylor Elementary School, Blair Middle School, and graduated with honors from Maury High School in 2018. She went on to attend George Mason University, where she graduated with honors from the Honors College in May 2022 with a degree in Business Management.

After completing her studies, Yasmine joined the family business, Omar's Carriage House—a treasured and long-standing restaurant founded by her father in 1998. With dedication and warmth, she took over daily operations, infusing the restaurant with her energy, leadership, and deep care for her staff and customers.

Yasmine was a radiant presence in her community. From the age of seven, she actively volunteered with NEST (Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team), passionately advocating for the homeless and vulnerable. Her kind heart, unwavering commitment to service, and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone she met.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Ahmed Zaki Boukhriss and Amina Serraj, and her maternal grandparents, Lamfadel Mouak and Khadija Lebnioury.

She is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Omar Boukhriss and Imane Mouak; her cherished brother, Ahmed Zaki Boukhriss; and her beloved nana, Touriya El Houiyet. Yasmine also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including 20 aunts and uncles, 36 cousins, and countless friends from around the world who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
