Winifred L. Lewis (Winnie) was born on October 01, 1951 in Norfolk, VA. "The WARDEN" was what we all called her. She was the auntie that didn't play; her sternness made us all great. Winnie was the daughter of the late Alfred Riddick and surviving Mother Vera L. Riddick of Norfolk, Virginia. Winnie attended Booker T. Washington High school in Norfolk, Virginia.
Winnie was an avid reader and an creative writer of poems and stage plays. She loved listening to music, decorating and cooking delicious food (with her famous hot and cold hors d'oeuvres). She enjoyed traveling with friends, planning wedding events and family night playing Po.Ke.No. However, everyone knows education was her passion.
From high school she started her first job at Norfolk School Board Systems. This was the start of her being an import/export coordinator. She then moved on to Birchers Dairy on Monticello Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia. She single-handedly ran this company including the fleet of drivers. After the production company closed and converted into Marvel Maid, the President and CEO encouraged her to move to Hampton, Virginia to run the business. She declined his offer and decided to further her education at Keys Business college studying accounting. After graduating, she left the state of Virginia to further her career goals in New Jersey. While in New Jersey she worked for United Jersey Bank as a Trade Service Specialist. Then went on to heighten her career at Norton Lily International-Secaucus as an Import Documentation Coordinator, continuing to China Ocean Shipping-Secaucus.
In 2001 Winnie decided to move back to Virginia to be with her family. Winnie continued her career in Logistics starting with Hipage Company Inc. in Norfolk, Virginia as Export Coordinator. Winnie always understood that knowledge and hard work would take her career further. So she enrolled in Tidewater Community College, completed her associate's degree, and joined the team at Zim American Integrated.
