William Thomas Lee, Jr. born on December 28, 1933, to William Thomas Lee, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth Harris Lee in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was predeceased by both parents and his sister, Yvonne Lee Robinson, his brothers Bertrum Lee and John Lee, and one son, William Thomas Lee, III. William married Anna McGue seventy years ago and six children were born from this union.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1951 and attended Bluefield State College, Bluefield, West Virginia. He also completed classes in Theology from Virginia Union University, Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. William retired from the Unites States Postal Service after thirty-two years. He worked an additional sixteen years at Avis Car Rental.

William joined The Historic First Baptist Church in his mid-teens and was an active member. He was ordained a Deacon in 1978 and later served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He served as Superintendent of Sunday School and served as a male usher.   William believed in serving mankind. He would glean the fields and distribute the food to seniors and to those in need. He was also an Explorer Leader in the Boy Scouts and an officer in the Chesapeake Garden/Mamie Homes Civic League.

Deacon Lee is survived by his wife, Deaconess Anna Lee; five children,

Michael Lee (Zandra), Carla Lee Terrell, Edwin Lee (Karen), Angela Lee Jones, Ricardo Lee (Lisa); Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
