On Wednesday evening, June 12, 2019, Wendell Christopher Paige left us to join his parents Kenswil C. Paige and Hattie Pegram Paige to sit at the feet of the Master in Glory. He was born on February 16, 1950 in the family home, (Liberty Park, Norfolk, VA) the youngest of eight children. His siblings are two sisters: Harriet Paige Brown and Karen Paige Womack; five brothers: Vincent Warren Paige, Sr., Kenswil Carmen Paige, Jr., Edward Richard Paige, Marshall Land Paige, and Ronald Stephen Paige. He was educated in Norfolk Public Schools graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1968. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Norfolk State University. He lived in Los Angeles, CA for 20 years before he returned to his native Norfolk where he worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad and subsequently retired due to illness. Chris was a jovial and fun-loving individual who knew no strangers. If you met him once, you became his friend forever. Chris celebrated life in all circumstances. For this, he will be remembered and sincerely missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Riddick Funeral Service at 4pm until 6pm followed by a celebratory wake at American Legion Post 5, 923 Glenrock Rd., Norfolk, VA 23502 from 7 pm – 10 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Basilica of St, Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 232 Chapel St., Norfolk, VA 23504.
