Vanessa Erma Hudson passed away on July 3, 2021 in Norfolk, VA. She was born on February 10, 1960 in Norfolk, VA to Carol Hudson, Sr. and Willie Mae Hudson.  Vanessa was always sweet, kindhearted and friendly to all. She had an amazing deep faith and spirit.

Vanessa graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1972, and Norfolk Catholic High School in 1978 where she was a cheerleader and competed on the track and field team. Vanessa then graduated from Tidewater Community College. She then began a 25-year career with Bank of America where she was honored in the government Card Call Service as the Spirit of Excellence award winner, the highest recognition given to Bank of America associates.

Vanessa loved her church, Basilica of Saint Mary's, where she participated in various areas during mass, including the church choir & Eucharistic ministry. She loved athletics, especially, Old Dominion University and the Dallas Cowboys. She is survived in death by her brother, Carol Hudson, Jr.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 12, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Riddick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, July 13 at 11:00 am at the Basilica of St Mary's Catholic Church at 232 Chapel street in Norfolk, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby street in Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint Mary's Catholic Church.
