Thomas R. Terry Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2017. A native of Norfolk, and the son of the late Moses and Hattie Mack Terry. Mr. Terry attended Booker T. Washington High School, and was drafted into the U.S. Navy and completed training at Great Lakes Naval Training School. Mr. Terry attended Hampton Institute Naval Service School, upon graduation he was stationed in Galveston, Texas for two and a half years as a Boatswain Mate First Class. Mr. Terry served in the U.S. Navy for three years and was honorably discharged. Following this he enrolled in the Norfolk Division of Virginia State College, and attended Virginia State University for one year, after this Thomas worked with the U.S. Postal service for thirty-two years before retiring. Thomas completed real estate school and served as a real estate broker for fourty years and founded Thomas R. Terry Realty and retired February 10, 2011 for good to enjoy the finer things of life. He was predeceased by his wife Eunice Terry, siblings, Moses ,Velma Hattie Joseph, Douglass, Lawrence, Garland, Charles and Wayland Terry. Left to cherish his loving memory a son, Thomas Terry Jr., siblings, Doris Pollock, Custis Terry, Jacqueline Smith, and Reginald Terry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, and special friends Dwight and Sheila Davis. A viewing will be May 9, 2017 from 2-8pm and wake 6-7pm at Riddick Funeral Service, funeral May 10, 2017 12noon at First Calvary Baptist Church, burial in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
