SHERVIN ROCHELLE PERRY, affectionately known as “Jody”, was born in Bertie County to Rachel Mae and Ernest Lee Perry, on January 1, 1965. Our Heavenly Father called him home on January 1, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Shervin attended the public schools in Norfolk, VA. He attended Job Corps where he learned many different skills like welding, firefighting and more. Known as one of the hardest working men around, he held many jobs throughout his life, but his true career was in event setup-tents, stages, chairs, and more for weddings, parties and festivals. He spent ten plus years with Affordable & Luxury Event Rentals. When he wasn’t working, he loved singing, wiping down his truck, and doing whatever he could for the people he loved. Shervin LOVED and cherished his mother.

He will affectionately be missed by his Queen Lois Cardwell, Mother Rachel Perry; (sister) Lydia Perry; (daughter) Shervetta Eaton-James/Terrance; (son) Ronald Cardwell (CJ)Terica; (nephews) Javaris Perry/Sharmain; Al Jackson; Jamal Perry; Rashawn Anthony. (nieces) Alicia Cheeseboro/Keith; Quanisha Perry; Grandchildren- Anthonie Thrower, Jaeda James, Aivynn James, Aryianna, Mekayla, Romelo; Extended Family and Friends.

Shervin was preceded in death by his father Ernest Lee Perry, sisters Elizabeth Ann Anthony, Linda Diane Perry, paternal grandparents-Walter B Perry, Allie Pearl Perry, maternal grandparents-Willie A Slade, Anna G Slade.
