Samuel L. "Buddy" Webster, Jr., 82, of the 2900 block of Argonne Avenue passed peacefully on January 17, 2021 at the residence. He was born in Princess Anne County, Virginia Beach, VA to the late Mary (Riddick) Webster and the late Samuel Lee Webster, Sr. The family moved to Norfolk, VA at an early age where he attended Norfolk City Public Schools. It was during this time that he developed a passion for sports, horse racing, western movies, and gospel "quartet" music. In 1960, he attained gainful employment with the International Longshoremen Association (Local 1248) and developed impeccable skills as a noted crane operator until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of New Mount Zion Church of God Holiness, 1042 Philpotts Road, Norfolk, VA 23513. He is survived by his loving wife, Evette Scott; four children, Phillip (Lori) Gilliam, Samelia L. Webster, Julia Cotton, and Joseph Scott Webster; 4 stepchildren, Ebony (Jamal) Springs, Ashley Scott, Dante Scott, and Montel Scott; two sisters, Dorothy Wheat, Brenda Morgan; three brothers, Joe L. (Denise) Webster, James I. (Mary) Webster, Joseph D. "J. D." Webster, and predeceased by one brother, William L. Webster; three stepsisters, Dorothy Pauline (James) Harvey, Brenda Skinner, Cynthia (Olendus) Gaines; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
