Obituary

Rosie May Williams was born October 2, 1940 in Currituck, NC. She attended Booker T. Washington School in Norfolk, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother, and Aunt. Rosie had a green thumb for growing plants. "Aunt Rosie" as she was often referred was an outstanding cook, known for her famous biscuits and fried chicken. She was a mother to her nieces, nephews and grandchildren whom she would babysit. A very gentle and soft spoken person, she greeted everyone with love and kindness. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Harvey Sr. and Sarah Burrus, brother Andrew Burrus, and son Leon Williams. Rosie leaves to cherish her memories her husband of fifty-six years, Maryland Williams, Sr., children; Maryland Williams, Jr.(Valerie) Kelley Williams and Juanita Williams-Woodhouse (Marvin) all of Norfolk, VA. and George Williams (Wanda) of Elkridge,MD., four sisters; Lena Morton of Virginia Beach, VA, Marietta Thornton of Norfolk, VA. Sarah Clark of N. Chesterfield, VA, Sabrina Brown of Norfolk, VA. three brothers; Louis Burrus of N. Chesterfield,VA, HArvey Burrus, Jr. of Norfolk,VA and Richard Burrus of White Plains,VA two sister in laws, Viola Haynes of San Francisco, CA, Nettie English(Norman) of Philadelphia,PA. A brother in law, James M. Williams, Sr., of Norfolk,VA. Five grandchildren,nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
