IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosalind Loretta
Mabry
June 6, 1955 – March 26, 2020
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore, will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
Ms. Rosalind Loretta Mabry departed this life on March 26, 2020. Rosalind was born on
June 6, 1955, the only child of the late SFC Walter E. Mabry, Jr. and Jean Jackson Mabry of Chesapeake, Virginia. She leaves to cherish her memory, a caring stepmother, Mrs. Barbara Whitley Mabry; loving aunts Mrs. Alma Mabry Wilson of Portsmouth, VA and Mrs. Belle Brown Mabry of Norfolk, VA; a host of devoted Mabry cousins; childhood best friend, Mrs. Sandra Sampson; special friends, Denise, Tory, and Jodeanna; and her Norfolk Naval Shipyard coworkers.
Rosalind was a 1973 graduate of Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, VA; and a 1977 graduate of Norfolk State University (NSU). She began work for the US Government when she graduated from NSU and would remain a government worker until her death. She was employed as a Quality Data Analyst at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Rosalyn inherited her father's strong work ethic, and held a second job at Pizza Hut for more than 30 years as well. She believed in paying her own way, never asking anyone for anything. She was always quiet until she got to know you.
Born to parents who believed in Christ, Rosalind was baptized at an early age, and became a member of the Divine Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. As a child and young adult, she worshipped there with her mother, Jean. On special occasions and for Mabry Family activities, she joined her father at his home church, the Shiloh Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA.
We do not mourn as those without hope for we know that we will see her again, somewhere around God's Throne!
