Ronnie Francis Burton, born January 1, 1947 in Norfolk,VA., son of Hilda Burton and the late Charles Francis Burton, entered eternal rest Wednesday April 3, 2013. He attended Norfolk Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington School in 1966. His career spanned 37 years at Dominion Power(Vepco)before retiring in 2006. He was a God fearing man and a faithful member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he was baptized at an early age. He became a Deacon on May 31, 2009; he was Chairman of the Trustee Board, former Chairman of the Senior Usher Board and sang in the Men's Choir. Ronnie loved his God and church. April 4th, Ronnie would have celebrated his 47th year of wedding blest to China Champtal Burton, in this blessed union together, they have 3 sons, Ronnie Francis Jr. of California, Michael Maurice of Baltimore, and Tyrone Arthur of Norfolk;5 grandchildren, Kevin, Precious, Aysha, Akayla Burton and Markia Holmes. He was predeceased by his brother Maurice Burton of California. Ronnis has a sister Hilda Gibson of Portsmouth and a brother Charles Burton of Fredericksburg,VA, a sister in law Sylvie Deschenes Burton of California and a special cousin Clarence Brown of Maryland. Ronnie also has a special niece and nephew George and Shariff PArker whom he helped raise and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
