Ronald W. Lewis, Sr. departed this life peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, November 9, 2020. He was born on February 17, 1949 in Norfolk Virginia to the late Bessie Louise Hofler Lewis and raised by his Dad, the late Rev. Samuel Benjamin Lewis, Sr.
Ronald was educated in the Norfolk public school system. He graduated from Booker T Washington High School and received a Biology Scholarship. He took computer classes at Tidewater Community College and was an excellent Mechanic. Ronald was a U.S. Veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received a medical honorable discharge.
At an early age, Ronald accepted Jesus Christ. He attended and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church Bolling Brook under the ministry of his Dad as Pastor & Mother as First Lady & Minister of Music. He loved his family and has a lot of kids that he enjoyed raising even if they were not his children biologically.
Ronald wanted to be a Pilot, but some restrictions prevented him from pursuing his dream. He kept up with politics and watched the history channels as well as Air Force movies. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins, and he loved muscle cars-mustang ford. He enjoyed play station games and loved his guns and knives. He listened, sang, and danced to a variety of music such as Country, Soft Rock and the Oldies but Goodies.
Some of his "Favorite sayings" were "In a minute" which means bye or "Yo-yo" which means hello. His "Favorite foods" were potato salad, fried chicken, chocolate milk, candy bars (i.e. 100 grand, baby ruth, milky way, twix) and pepsi sodas. He often liked to wear his shorts over his sweatpants. Other personality/characteristics included: Handler – Hopeful – Strong, Firm but fair & Full of Joy, Provider – caring – reliable, Wise -brave-responsible, Sincere – fighter – laid back.
Ronald is survived by his Children Gelle, Christopher, Ronald Jr., Wesley, Alicia, Anthony, Sharonda, Robin & Bessie; His Siblings Donald (Carolyn), Samuel (Eunice), Angela (Tyrone), Phillip (Centura), Lucres (Troy), & Christy; Grandkids, a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends
