Robert O'Neal Palmer, Sr., 71, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Taft Palmer, Sr., his mother, Virginia Palmer, and his brothers, Lewis Palmer and Taft Palmer, Jr. Robert was born and raised in Norfolk, Va., and educated in the Norfolk Public School system. He later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he lived at the time of his passing. Robert enjoyed sports and was an avid baseball player as a young adult. He leaves his children, Robert O'Neal, Jr. and Germaine Clary both of Norfolk, Va., LTC(R) Rodney Palmer (Diveda) of Chesterfield, Va., and Robin Little (Jerome) of Pensacola, Florida., and the mother of his children, Ethel Palmer of Norfolk, Va. He also leaves to cherish his memory six sisters, Ernestine P. Reid, Alice P. Mitchell, Cynthia P. Simpkins (Bobby), and Carolyn P. Heyward (Isiah), all of Norfolk, Va., Marie P. Evans, Philadelphia, Pa. and Vera P. Moore, Maryland; two brothers, Mark Palmer (Phyllis), Arkansas and William Palmer (Lucy), Amelia, Va.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, special nephew, Mark Palmer, Jr., and friends.
