Robert Orlander Langley, III entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was the youngest child of the late Lillian Jackson Langley and the late Robert Orlander Langley, Jr.
Robert was born on December 9, 1955 in Norfolk, Virginia and received his formal education in the Norfolk Public School System (Lindenwood Elementary, Willard and Norview Junior Highs, as well as and Granby High School where he graduated in 1974). Following high school, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. After Basic training at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, Robert was transferred to Denver, Colorado for six months of training and then on to his permanent assignment at McClellan Air Force Base in California for the next three and half years. Following his stint in the Air Force, Robert returned home in 1978 and attended Norfolk State University. He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Business. Robert was admired as an avid reader and lifelong learner of science, mathematics, and history.
Robert began his business career as a rental agent with Alta Car Rental, and in 1986 he secured his dream job with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a bank examiner based in Tampa, Florida. After leaving the FDIC, he returned home to serve as his mother's caretaker. After her death in 1998, Robert left the Hampton Roads area to live in Houston, Texas.
Robert is survived by his sister, Linda Langley Davis (Tyrone), his brother, Cecil R. Conley, Sr. (Gloria), his nephew, Cecil R. Conley, Jr.,
nieces, Asheleigh O.M. Conley and Tia Joy Davis, uncle, Mr. James H. Brown, aunts, Mrs. Harriette Mickle and Mrs. Frankie F. Jackson
and a host of cousins and friends
