On Monday June 2,2025, God in his infinite wisdom and tender mercy, called from our midst our beloved Aunt Rebie Watford.
Rebie Watford,98 was born on October 22,1926 in Colerain, North Carolina to the late William B Watford and Mary Morris Watford. She was educated in Corlerain, North Carolina and in her early years of life, she married James Alfred Watford and relocated to Norfolk, Virginia. After moving to Norfolk, Virginia they joined the Mount Gilead Baptist Church where she was a member for over 50 years. She loved her church where she served on the usher board #1.
Rebie was a hard worker and work at Farm Fresh as a cook until she retired and she loved her family and was a model to many on how to keep a clean house and to be a wife as she was married for 51 years. She knew how to make you laugh and to cheer you up with her golden smile. She was always willing to help those in need, and she would open her home to many and there was always a place at her table to feed all who entered her home.
Rebie was preceded in death by her husband James, brothers Supt. James Bud Watford, Norman Thomas Watford, sister Cherry Watford Mizelle, Barbara Watford Taylor. Rebie leaves to cherish her memory her sibling Dorothy Mae Watford Douglas, her stepson Joseph Dembry, her niece and caregiver Areatha Taylor, nieces Diane Raynor (Wayne), Shirley Parker (Thomas), Earline Meredith, Elder Patricia White (Richard), Debra Watford, Audrey McDowell nephews Dondra' Taylor (Tiakeya), Overseer Eric C. Taylor, Bishop James C. Watford (Carolyn), Larry Watford (Betty), Tony Watford. Her special nieces Yolanda Simmon (Patrick) and Delana White, Saniyah Simmons, Sierra Taylor, and nephew Clarance Watford
