Rasul Salaam, known to his loved ones as Oscar Winfred Mouring, passed away on September 16, 2023, in Norfolk, VA. He was 57 years old.

Rasul Salaam was born on June 7, 1966, in Norfolk, Virginia to Donald and Lelia Mouring. Rasul attended Granby High School and later became the owner-operator of Seven Appliance Repair. His dedication and expertise in this field were greatly appreciated by his customers. Rasul had a warm-hearted nature and exceptional intelligence. His infectious personality and great sense of humor made him well-known and beloved. Rasul's love for life and unique personal style set him apart from the crowd.

Rasul is survived by his daughter Shantell Anders and four siblings, Thomas Coles, Cynthia Brown, Donna Odweso, and Donald Mouring Jr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as extended family. Rasul Salaam will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Rasul's special friend, Sherry Small and the Gethsemane Fellowship Church Family for their support. His memory will forever be cherished.
