Patricia Ann Waddell, 55 transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.  She was born on September 30, 1965 in Marks, Mississippi to the late Sarah Phipps and Tommy Phipps.  Patricia moved to Norfolk at the age of 3 years old with her mother.  Patricia infectiously known as "Pat" or "Pat Pat", she was the only child born to her parents. Pat was educated in the Norfolk Public School System, graduating from Booker T. Washington, Class of 1983.  After graduation, she gained employment at the Norfolk Naval Base as a Supply Technician for several years.  Recently, she was employed with the Norfolk Public School System as a Attendance Technician. She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah Phipps and Tommy Phipps.  Patricia leaves her son Brenden Lamar Phipps, aunts Sallie Cooper of Marks, MS; Carrie Key of Ullin, IL; and uncle, Eddie Key, Jr of Marks, MS; a special cousin, June Cooper-Dubose of Olive Branch, MS and a special friendship that expanded almost 50 years with Shauna Barringer, Rita Rountree and LaSandra Wingate. We, the extended family of Patricia Waddell express our sincere gratitude for your calls, visits, donations, deeds and especially your prayers.  Special acknowledgement to the staff of Booker T. Washington for their awesome love and support.
