Patricia Mapes was unexpectedly called to Heaven on July 25. After suffering a major stroke three months ago she had been bravely working through rehabilitation exercises and was hoping to come home on July 27, but instead she was called home to the Lord. Tricia was born on June 7, 1971 at West Point, New York exactly ten years from the date her father, Walter Claassen graduated from the Academy there. He as well as her brother David and her first born son Matthew, preceded her in death and now are reunited with her in the arms of God. She leaves her loving husband Charles and six children, Stephanie, Daniel, Andrew and Mary Glover and David and Emily Mapes. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, brothers, Walter, Gregory and Michael( Dana) Claassen, and several nieces and and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone who responded to Tricia's passing with phone calls, letters, donations and e-mails. They are cherished rememberances. Tricia will be remembered as a warm, loving, giving, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. We will all love and miss her always.
