IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Olando Otis
Randle
March 2, 1992 – July 3, 2021
Voyage of Life
OLANDO OTIS RANDLE was born on March 2, 1992, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia. He was the second child born to John Earl Randle, Jr. and Corine Alfreda Wright Randle. Orlando had a million-dollar smile and cherished spending time with his family especially with his daughter Elaina.
Olando was a man of faith who believed in God. He loved God and loved to read the Holy Bible. His life testimony was, "God is his sustainer and without God he could not bear his life experiences." He ministered to others through the Scriptures. Olando joined Norview Baptist Church where he was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Herb Holton. At Norview, he was mentored by Pastor Dave Klinedinst.
Olando's highest core values centered around respect for others and himself. He commanded respect as a man and valued respecting others. His deep caring for children was shown through mentoring neighborhood children that included empowering them with positive messages. He was always helping people with problems and tasks. One of his wishes was to have more money to use to help others.
Olando attended Norview Elementary, Junior High and High Schools. He graduated from Norview High School in 2010. Immediately after graduation he began his employment career at Kmart as a Consumer Service Representative. He went on to work with Piedmont Airlines at Norfolk International Airport, Uber, and Amazon where he worked until his death. It was at Piedmont Airlines that he began his lifetime friendship with Anthony Mason whom he refers to as his "third Brother".
Olando loved sports and was very athletic. He served as a member of Norview High School Wrestling Team from 2009 to 2010. He loved watching and talking about sports especially football and basketball. His favorite football team was the Indianapolis Colts. He often wore their paraphernalia and attended a few games in person. Other favorite pastimes were hanging out with friends talking about sports or hanging out with "Male Elders" as referred to in the Bible.
Olando was also known by his nickname, "Big O" and "O". He had a great sense of humor and was known to light up the room with laughter. He was a man who really enjoyed humor that included cracking jokes, and pranking.
Olando is the father of Elaina Renee Randle; a special friend of Alecia Norris, Elaina's mother; the brother of Jama A. Randle, Curtis "Kurt" Randle, and Aldo A. E. Wright. He has a special cousin friend, LaKesha Brown.
Olando was born with the earthy assignment to be a son, a grandson, a brother, a father, a friend, a mission he truly fulfilled. On July 3, 2021, all his assignments mention and unmentioned had been completed. The call from Glory came and he answered. Olando's presence will forever be remembered by us, as well as by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
