Obituary

Nancy Lyn Mack was born on November 1, 1989, in Pomona, California, to her loving parents, Mona

Rhinehardt and Leonard Mack.

Nancy Lyn spent most of her life in Southern Virginia, particularly in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. She

loved growing up in Virginia Beach, where she enjoyed spending time with neighborhood friends,

attending school, church, and discovering her passion for music.

Music held a very special place in Nancy Lyn’s heart. She played the viola and was accepted into Salem

High School’s Performing Arts Program, where she had the opportunity to perform on several stages.

Her love of music remained with her throughout her life. She always made sure to keep her beloved viola

close, and she also enjoyed playing her keyboard. Nancy Lyn continued her education at Tidewater

Community College (TCC), where she studied coding.

Throughout much of her working life, Nancy Lyn worked in the hospitality industry. She spent several

years working as a mixologist and server, including positions at Ruby Tuesday and Smokey Bones, with

much of her career centered at Norfolk International Airport.

Nancy Lyn treasured time with her family. Holidays, family barbecues, gatherings, and days spent at

the beach brought her great joy. Her favorite color was purple, and anything purple—whether

something she wore or something she held—had a special way of bringing a smile to her face and joy to

her heart.

Nancy Lyn also shared many special memories with her boyfriend, Hunter, the only boyfriend she ever

introduced to her family. He was someone who kept her smiling as they traveled together, both near and

far. Their adventures included Hawaii, Spain, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona, among many other

memorable places.

Nancy Lyn had a zest for life that could be seen in her beautiful smile and warm personality. Although

she was often perceived as quiet, those closest to her knew the joyful side of Nancy Lyn—the woman

who would open up, laugh, enjoy herself, and become part of the celebration. Her presence brought

happiness to those around her, and the friendships she made throughout her life were very meaningful

to her.

On Sunday morning, Nancy Lyn was found peacefully in her sleep by her roommate, Isaiah, with her

beloved dog Texas right there beside her. In those final quiet moments, she was not alone—her faithful

companion and best friend remained close by her side.

Nancy Lyn leaves to celebrate and cherish her life and memory her devoted mother, Mona Rhinehardt;

Nancy Lyn will be remembered for her

love of family, her passion for music, her

quiet but joyful spirit, her beautiful

smile, and the happiness she brought

into the lives of those who knew and

loved her.

Her music may have grown quiet, but

the love, memories, and joy she gave to

others will continue to live on in every

heart she touched.
