Mr. Michael Ekco Lee, a recent resident of Norfolk, VA, has passed from this life on Wednesday morning, July 27, 2022. He was born in Driver, Virginia a subdivision of Suffolk, VA, on October 31, 1953. Michael was the youngest child born into the family of Joe and Mamie Lee, both deceased. Other siblings born into the Lee family are Adolph Lee (deceased), and Josephine Lee Turner (Ulysses) of Norfolk¸ VA. Siblings who are deceased: Mary Cecile Harrison (Clyde Harrison) and Catherine Lee. Michael was educated in the Suffolk Public School system. His work experiences included: A driver for Capitol Concrete, Inc., Norfolk, VA; a brief military enlistment; a truck driver; a delivery contractor for the Suffolk News Herald & Virginian Pilot newspapers. Michael truly loved and supported his family. He was lovingly known by endearing terms as "Granddad" and "Mr. Michael". During the last several years, Margaret & Michael regularly attended the Berean Light Ministries in Emporia, VA. Their Pastor, Apostle Dorethea Allen ministered the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Allen, as well as members, also frequently visited Michael and Margaret to pray and witness and to provide much needed supplies. Michael and Margaret were blessed by the knowledge that they were greatly loved by family and friends. Michael is survived by his sister, Mrs. Josephine Lee Turner, sister-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Lee (Adolph, deceased) and niece LaShonda Lee of Buffalo, NY; his sons: Michael Lee, Jr., Kevin Bush, David Vincent Bush; one stepdaughter, Melva Davis; stepsons: Bryant Davis, Terrell Artis, Donta Artis, Brandon Artis, Jesse Artis, and Justin Artis. He is survived by favorite cousins: Mrs. Nawatha Williams, Ms. Patricia Williams & Dr. Brenda Boone-Smith; a host of grandchildren, nieces/nephews/cousins and friends. His beloved wife, Margaret A. Lee recently passed away on February 3, 2022. We believe that their spirits will meet again in that Celestial Realm where Jesus is!! Rest in peace, father, husband, brother, brother-in-law, grand dad, loyal friend, cousin and laborer in the Kingdom. You will be missed.
