Mattie LeRonia Coston was born October 27, 1945, in Chowan County, NC to the late Lovie L. Coston and Eugene Ricks. On October 28, 2022, our heavenly Father gently closed her loving eyes and she entered into eternal rest. Mattie received her education in Edenton, NC. After relocating to Norfolk, VA where she worked as laborer, she met and married Calvin Buie. Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin. She is predeceased by her parents, Lovie L. Coston and Eugene Ricks, sister, Shirley-Anne Lawson and brother, Charles Coston. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Raymond E. Coston, Alvin E. Coston and Terrece Lawson and her children through love, Harvey Lewis, Andre Chappell and Kimberly Chappell, brother, Eugene Ricks Jr. three sisters, Essie Ricks, Sandra Ricks and Rebecca Ricks, granddaughter Alexis B. Coston, grandchildren through love and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
