On January 31, 2023, Mary Lee Williams passed away in Norfolk, Virginia of natural causes. She was 92 years old. Mary Lee is survived by her children; Calvin H. Williams, Jr (Sharon) and Cynthia Ragland. She was the proud grandmother of Angela Kirkland (Otis), Otis IV, Joshua, Lance and Keira; Michelle Ragland Blalock (Robert) Robbie and Blaylin; Vanetta Ragland; Andrea McVaney (Jamie) Riley, Colt, Caleb, Calvin, and Cai; Calvin H. Williams, III; Lauren Ragland Kitchens (Jeremy) Jackson and Lennox; and Alexis Williams. She is survived by her honorary sister Jean Johnson, brother-in-law Vincent Varnadore, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah and Mary Lee Harold; her son Larry Williams; brothers: Jeremiah Jr, (Buddy), James, Charlie, Albert, Andrew and Leavy; sisters: Ruth (Sissy), Eloise, Gracie, Georgia and Delores. Mary Lee was born on July 19, 1930, in Princess Anne County, Virginia. She graduated from Princess Anne Training School in 1948. She married Calvin H. Williams, Sr in 1949, and they had three children together (Calvin, Cynthia and Larry). She was employed at Andrew Harold's Texaco Gas Station followed by many years of dedicated employment at Harold's Market in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked closely with her brother Leavy and sister Eloise. She remained at Harold's Market until it closed in 1999. She worshiped the Lord at the House of Prayer in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she was an active member of the Number Two choir. She devoted her later years to spending time with her family. She cared for her parents, ill siblings, welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the world; she traveled to many far places to be with them.
