Maria Antoinette Hyman was born September 20, 1960, in Rockville Centre, New York. She graduated from Malverne Senior High School, Malverne, New York, and furthered her studies at Commonwealth College in Virginia. Maria worked for many years and retired from the Norfolk Public School System where she was employed in the Administrative Offices.
As a young woman, Maria graduated from Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting with a passion for fashion styling. She truly loved modeling. Maria would walk around the house practicing her model walk balancing a book on her head for hours. And Maria's joyous laugh made you laugh too. She also enjoyed hosting holiday meals and family get-togethers. Maria loved her grandchildren dearly and delighted in encouraging them, watching them grow, and spoiling all of them.
Maria entered into eternal heavenly rest on March 21, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Violetta and Henry Brown. She is survived by her husband, William Hyman Sr. of Norfolk, VA. Maria leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Keisha M. Brown of Hampton, VA and Santresha A. Edwards of Sherman, TX, one son, William Hyman Jr. of Norfolk, VA, and three brothers, Vincent Brown of New York, Louis Brown of Florida and Mark Brown of Maryland. Additional loved ones include: eight grandchildren, Cazmere Brinson, Jared Cunningham, Jada Cunningham, Tyler Edwards, Kayden Edwards, Cameron Edwards, Travis Hyman, Tiara Hyman, one great-grandson, Isaiah Jordan Rivera, two uncles,
Earl Hudgins of New York and Larry Hudgins of Kentucky, two aunts, Audrey Felton of Virginia and Myra Bracey of Virginia, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
