Margaret Johnson Rodgers, Loving mother, sister and faithful missionary went home to be with our Lord and Savior on November 10 th 2021.
Margaret was born on March 16 th 1931 in Exmore, Virginia to her loving parents the late Charlie and Sarah Johnson. Margaret was highly educated with a zest to continuously expand her knowledge. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School class of 1948, Norfolk State University, and The Virginia Union School of Theology with a Masters Degree in Divinity in 2003. Upon retiring from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard she held several post with different organizations in the Human Services field. She served in the Women's Choir, Good News Ministry, Mamie E. Gordon Missionary Society and Bible Academy at First Baptist Church-Bute. Margaret was a strong willed person who believed in living her life to the fullest, she had the opportunity to travel to Africa as a missionary twice, and would freely offer her advise and food to anyone who needed nourishment of the mind or body.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving parents Charlie and Sarah Johnson, her son's Ronnie Rodgers and Michael Rodgers (Shelia), her siblings Charlie Johnson, Willie Johnson (Charlotte), Al Brown (Joyce), and Paulette Portlock, and her niece Avise Glover.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her son Jonathan L. Rodgers, her grandchildren Katrisha Beckham (Terrell), Natashia George(Albert), Michael Rodgers (Cherish), and her nieces Wendy Johnson, and Keisha Caesar(Clinton) and a host of great grandchildren, cousins and extended family.
