Mother Lillie Mae Williams, 103 years old was born on October 1, 1920, in Leechville, North Carolina to the late Nathaniel Green and Hattie Wilkinson Green. She was called Home to be with the Lord, Jesus the Christ as she peacefully transitioned at her home in Chesapeake, Virginia on Thursday June 13, 2024, at 8:11 P.M. Mother Williams had an infectious smile and a sharp sense of doing what she believed was pleasing to God. She enjoyed going to church, visiting her neighbors, and letting her children know what God expected of them. Being a wife, mother and homemaker who loved and respected God. She was married to Elder George W. Williams for 77 years, to this union three sons and a daughter were born. However Elder Williams passed at the age of 100 on September 18, 2018. Lillie Mae joined St. Paul Disciple Church at a very early age and continued serving the Lord until the day she died. However, her last church family was First Pentecostal United Holy Church on Wilson Road in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the oldest mother, served on the mother's board, member of the senior choir, member of the women fellowship and the Cloverdale Civic League. She was an example of the Virtuous woman or good wife which you read about in Proverbs 31, "For her price is far above rubies" She was predeceased by her husband George W. Williams, sisters, Helen O'Neal, Louise Green, Emma Green, Vernon Lee Green and one brother, Arthur Lee Green. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Gladys Gray of the home; her sons, Willie Lee Williams of Chesapeake, VA, James (Willie Mae) Williams of Jonesville, SC, and George R. Williams of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law, Susie Green of Norfolk, VA, eight grandchildren, Terri ( Ray ) McCoy of Chesapeake, Va; Derek and Nannett Williams of Washington, DC, Ivan ( Sharon) Williams of Fayetteville, NC; Brad and Stacey Williams of Spartansburg, SC, Adrian Newsome of Chesapeake, VA; Antonia Edwards of Charlotte, NC; Michelle ( Adrian) Brown of Chesapeake, VA; Richelle( Carl) Brown of Concord, NC; twenty four great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, special nieces, Hattie Gardner of Katy, TX and Celestine (Jerry) Hudson of Norfolk, VA; nephews Willie Ray Green of Norfolk, VA and Charlie O'Neal of Belhaven, NC and a host of cousins, friends and church family.
