Lillian Virginia Deloatch (Askew), affectionately known as Lyn, was called home to glory on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on October 20, 1938, to the late Rufus Askew and Viola Bray Askew, Lillian was a woman of immense strength, love, and resilience.

On August 31, 1954, Lillian married the love of her life, Leon Deloatch. Together, they shared nearly 59 years of marriage, a bond that reflected their deep love and unwavering commitment to each other. As a mother to six sons and four daughters, Lillian was the heart and soul of her family. Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Deloatch, Sr.; her son, Leon Deloatch, Jr.; her daughter, Lillian Deloatch-Banks; and her sisters, Delois Mae Askew, Amelia Whaff, Gracie May Askew, and Mary Elizabeth Judd; and brothers Alphonso Askew and Louis Askew.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Maurice Deloatch, Lorenzo "Tyrone" Deloatch, Leander Deloatch (Veronica), Martin Deloatch, Matthew Deloatch; daughters, Trenia Bowden (Cledith), Loretta Deloatch, Paulette Rusaw (John); sisters Evelyn Askew, Louise Lassiter (William), and Viola Woodard; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were all blessed by her loving presence.
