On August 31, 2020 Leroy Knight's name was called from on high by Almighty God.

Leroy was born June, 17, 1953 to the late Emmalene Primes and Herbert Lathan. He was the oldest of nine siblings.

Leroy was educated in the Norfolk Public School system. At the age of 23 he moved to New York City where he lived for a number of years. Later in life, Leroy moved back to Norfolk. He worked as a machine operator for the Gordon's Paper Company in Virginia Beach until his retirement.

Leroy was led to Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Lillian Richardson of Norfolk, Virginia. Leroy was person who loved people, he was very warm and friendly and humorous; he was willing to lend a helping hand if he could. And he was a good cook.

Leroy leaves to love and cherish his memory his daughter Sonia Knight of New York City; two grandsons, Rafael and Marquis, both of New York City; brothers Varn Knight (Belinda), Robinson Knight, Thomas Primes Jr., and Ben Primes; four sisters, Brenda Knight (Donald), Carrie Primes, Elaine Gordon, and Bertha Primes, all of Norfolk, Virginia.

A loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

We will miss you, dear one, but God knows best, sleep on and take your rest.
