LENNOX A. GEORGE made his Heavenly Ascension home on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026. Born on December 15th, 1943, in Sangre Grande, Trinidad and Tobago, Lennox was the second oldest of four children of Mr. Samuel B. George and Mrs. Violet A. George.

His siblings considered him the most adventurous and the “Life of the Party”. He loved to dance and was affectionately known as the “DANCER BOY” of the town, entering and winning numerous dance competitions. Lennox attended Arima Boys Government Primary School and then Holy Cross College in Arima. After graduating, his family moved to Tobago, where his father was stationed. Later, they returned to Trinidad, where Lennox secured his first permanent position with Amalgamated Industries as a Parts Manager/Supervisor and Shop-Steward Union Representative. He later managed a record shop in Barataria, San Juan. In 1974, Lennox took a bold step and migrated to the United States, leaving the beautiful shores of Trinidad and Tobago behind. In the US, he joined U-Haul as a Parts Manager. Ambitious and driven, he sought greater opportunities for his family and applied for a position at Fordham University in the Bronx, New York, ultimately serving as Custodial Manager, Security, and later as Grounds Operations Manager. He was the only African American on staff at that time and took immense pride in his achievements. Lennox retired from Fordham University in 1997 and settled in Virginia, where he made his home.

Lennox is survived by his beloved wife, Florencia M. George; his children and stepchildren: Debra and Scot Walker, Adam Thompson George, Mary Ann Warren, Elsie Reid, James Herman, and Rejena Grace Marata.

Siblings: Glenford George (deceased), Lenore George Howard, and Bernadeth Edwards (deceased);

Grandchildren: DeAndre Lennox Thomas, Precious Smith, Jordan Herman, Andrew Smith, Xavier Walker (deceased), London Thompson, Atiya Wooling, Lena Thompson, Leila Thompson, and Elias Thompson.

Cousins: Kem and Ermine Phillips.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

John 14:1-2: "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house, there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
