We are gathered here today in celebration of the life of Kahleel (Jazz), a
loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend who was called
home too soon, which shocked and saddened us all. He was only 28 years
old, but he lived a full and meaningful life.
Kahleel was born on April 3, 1995, at Roosevelt Roads Naval Hospital in
Ceiba, Puerto Rico to Sierran Upton and Kelvin Wroten. He grew up
partially in Atlanta, Georgia and then relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia
where he made lifelong friends. Jazz educational journey began in the
Atlanta Public School System and was completed in Virginia Beach City
Public School.
Kahleel is survived by his loving mother Sierran (Ronnie) Upton. His four
beautiful children Jeremiah, Khalayia, Jordyn, and Jaceion McClenny. A
sister Narreis Upton and three brothers, Julian, Justin, D'Andre Wroten.
His maternal grandmother Shirley Griffin, his loving niece Kaymora Leigh
(Toni) Upton. He is also survived by, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews,
cousins, Godmother, God brother, God sister, his former companion
Kasaera, and host of friends and associates.
Jazz was a kind and generous person, who touched the lives of many
people. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer a smile, or share a joke.
He had a great sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life. He was a
loyal and supportive friend, who always stood by his loved ones. Jazz was
a rare and precious soul, who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was a joy and a blessing to us all. Jazz will be dearly missed, but never
forgotten. He will live on in our hearts and memories.
We thank God for giving us Jazz, and we trust him to take care of him in
heaven. We hope that Jazz is at peace, and that he knows how much we
love him. We look forward to seeing him again when we are reunited in Gods presence
