Johnie M. Johnson Jr. was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 9 ^th, 1939 to Johnie M. Johnson Sr. and Alma Johnson. He departed this life on December 3 ^rd , 2021.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk before enlisting in the army. Johnie was a private in the United States Army Reserve and received an honorable discharge in 1957.

He met the love of his life, Mariel, in 1962 and they happily raised a family together for over 59 years.

Johnie was a dedicated man and a hard worker. He once worked at a steel mill and he also once worked construction on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. For many years, Johnie was a respected manager at Edison ParkFast before he retired and returned to Norfolk, Va.

Johnie and his wife Mariel were avid fishers and often went fishing in Long Island, Upstate New York, and in Virginia. Both Johnie and Marie were also on a bowling team and won many trophies and prizes. They loved to swim and enjoyed beautiful vacations in The Bahamas and St Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Johnie left a legacy of love for his children: Johnie Johnson III (deceased), Sophia, Louis, Terrance, Pamela, Robyn; his daughters-in-law: Veronica and Sharon; his grandchildren: LaWanda, Louis Jr, Devernia, Ronnie, Terrance Jr, Jordan, Daunte, and Dante; and his many, many close friends and loved ones.
