On Saturday April 2, 2022, Jerome passed peacefully after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his brothers and was supported by his family and friends. Jerome was born on October 3, 1954 to Delores and John Walton in Norfolk, Virginia and attended Norfolk Public Schools. Jerome was a factotum worker at heart. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette Walton, parents Delores and John Walton, eldest brother Willie Lee Brown. Jerome is survived by four brothers, John Walton, Robert Lee Walton (Ethel) Harun Ahkey (Maggie) and Keith Walton (Valerie) six sisters, Helen Wilson, Sandra Walston (Thomas) Barbara Ann Walton, Janice Walton, Ivory Walton and Robin Coleman (Scott) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend, Robert Longshore. Jerome was a loving, caring and giving person, he always wanted those around him to be happy. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for his family and friends. He enjoyed food and being in the presence of all that loved him, even in his times of weakness, he would always make sure that the people around him was ok. Jerome would get in his wheelchair and roll around Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and check on everyone trying to give all his food, snacks and money to everyone and anyone that he thought needed it. He had such a kind heart and a lovely spirit. He will truly be missed.
