Jeanette Hardy Hawkins passed quietly into eternal rest on Monday January 13, 2020. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Norfolk, Va to the late Mary Hardy. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Wilbert Hawkins Sr. and her sons, Wilbert Jr. and Alphonso Hawkins. Jeanette was educated in Norfolk Public Schools, she retired from the City of Norfolk, Department of General Services. She was a resident of Norfolk Health and Rehab Center. Previously she was a 65 year resident of Young Park Housing Community. Her has as she called it and loved it dearly, before her health began to fail she enjoyed keeping her front yard cut and flower beds planted, she planted vegtables in the backyard the she shared with neighbors and friends. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Jeanette H. Williams, sons, Paige Hawkins (Ruth) Irving Hawkins, grandchildren, Shirley M. Hawkins, Benjamin H. Williams, Michael J. Williams, Katrina Webb, Anthony Williams, a special niece Arline Hardy and son Christopher, seven great great grandchildren, a special friend Velmateen Hawkins and a host of nieces, nephews and friends
