James Elvin Simmons, Sr, born in Dover,N.C. to the late Eugene and Naomi Dunk Simmons went home to be with the Lord on Sunday September 4, 2016. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Edward and Jackie.He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean Veteran War, he retired as a quality assurance specialist , from the naval aviation depot, Norfolk, VA. and attended Norfolk State University, and was a proud member of Christ The King Church and the Bachelor-Benedict Social Club, Inc. He is survived by his beloved wife Carrie Christian Simmons, and two sons, Keith A. and James Jr., adopted daughter, Carrie E. Felton, sisters; Charity Billouin, Ester Foye, Rosa Ford(Thomas) Edna Parker(Wardell)
