Harvey L.
Roberts
January 2, 1923 – July 16, 2021
On Friday, July 16, 2021, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, Harvey L. Roberts was summoned by God to take his well -deserved final rest. He was a native of Edenton, NC.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Warren Grove Baptist Church. When he moved to Norfolk, VA, he joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with his wife Helen M. Roberts.
Harvey was a proud soldier in the Army and served during WWII. He was a mechanic at Brown's Exxon for many years and retired from Lone Star as a machinist. Spending time with family, watching baseball, and listening to music are things that he enjoyed. Harvey especially loved Al Green.
He was the last surviving child out of 10 born to William and Ella Roberts. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen M. Roberts. He leaves to cherish his memories; his daughters Edna R. Selden and Robin A. Williams (Earl); 3 grand- children, Robert A. Selden II, LeKeya S.Massenburg, and Earl L. Williams III (Shannon); great-grand children, Malik N. Milbourne, Robert A. Selden III, Avont N. Selden, Taylor M. Massenburg, Beau G. Williams, and Richmond H. Williams; a step brother, Fred Harris; 2 step sisters ,Ruth Haywood, and Mable Marshall, sister in laws ,Ellie Roberts and Carthenia Brown and a host of relatives and friends.
