In Loving Memory of Guadalupe Rivera
September 13, 1965 – May 29, 2026
Guadalupe Rivera, lovingly known as “Lupe," was born on September 13, 1965, in Texas. At the age of five, his family moved to Homestead, Florida where he grew into the loving, hardworking, and dedicated man so many knew and cherished.
Lupe was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and willingness to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. A true family man, he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He had a passion for sports, especially basketball and football. He especially was a fan of the Miami Dolphins. In his leisure time, Lupe enjoyed watching sports, and sharing laughter with family and friends. For the past 15 years, Lupe worked faithfully as a Landscape Supervisor in the Hampton Roads area. He resided in Norfolk, Virginia, for 14 years and recently lived in Suffolk, Virginia.
He is preceded by his mother Francisca Rivera and his brother Eleazar “Alex” Rivera.Lupe leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his six children:
Shovanda Rivera, 42Trinidad Magallan, 41Guadalupe Magallan Jr., 39Francisca Magallan-Rivera, 36Francisco Magallan, 34Andrea De Armas, 33He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, along with his beloved siblings: Rosalinda Maradiega and Joe Rivera.
Although Lupe's passing leaves a tremendous emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his spirit will live on through every laugh shared, every family gathering, every football game watched, and every memory made together.
He will forever be remembered as a funny, loving, strong, and unforgettable man who truly loved life and the people in it.
