Frank Owens was called home on March 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on March 16, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Carrie and Alex Owens Sr., he was also preceded in death by his brother, Alex Owens Jr.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Norma (James) Owens Corprew, Sam Owens, and Margie Boyd; his children: Anthony, Alexis, Aniya, and Zenyia; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A proud native of Norfolk, Frank was a Maury Commodore and an alumnus of Maury High School. He continued his education at Old Dominion University, where he earned a certificate in welding. A man of many talents, Frank was both a skilled roofer and an exceptional drummer.

Music was one of Frank’s greatest passions. Known as a master drummer, he played with several bands and expressed his love of life through his music. His vibrant personality, gift for connecting with others, and entrepreneurial spirit made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Affectionately known as “Uncle Frank” throughout the Norfolk community, he was admired for his kindness and his distinctive style—often seen in colorful suits, stylish hats, and his signature Stacy Adams shoes.

Frank Owens leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
