IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eva Cordelia
Parson
December 13, 1929 – July 30, 2025
Our beloved Mother, Nana or Aunt Dealie as she was so affectionately known, departed this life on July 30, 2025.
Eva Parson was born December 13th, 1929, to Pearlie Estella Hanbury and Stewart R. Williams in Norfolk, VA. We called her the Matriarch of the family because she was the last, living sibling of 10 brothers and sisters.
Eva attended Booker T Washington High School, and after finishing, went on to become a CNA with the Jewish Family Center. Eva would continue her studies in business to later work in client services for The Bank of America, where she eventually retired. She also served as an Eastern Star for a short time, helping and working in the community.
Eva had a great love for her family, and she loved all four of her children deeply. When they were young, it was her joy to always dress them so well, spend time with them and make sure they had everything they needed. People would always compliment her on how well dressed she kept them and how well behaved they were.
She also, was a devoted wife, grandmother, auntie and cousin who you could always depend on when you needed help or a listening ear.
Eva was very fond of and loved all her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nana,"
Eva also, had a fond passion for music, all kinds. On any given day, you could always catch her with her earphones on, listening to some good old school tunes, tapping and moving her feet to the beat.
Eva was previously married to Mr. Alexander Parson and was a member of the St. Joseph A.M.E. Zion Church in Chesapeake, VA, where in 1982 she received a Servitude award for her service to the church.
She was preceded in death by her children, Bernard S. Williams and Jennifer A, Brown: Granddaughter, Lorie Davis: Siblings, Pearlie E, Daniels, Georgia Rogers, Rudolph Williams, Curtis Williams, John H. Williams, Milton Spratley, Garrett E. Williams, Ike WIlliams, Stephen Lee Williams and Stu Robert Williams.
