Esther was born December 31, 1951 and passed on June 26, 2019. She was born to and predeceased by her parents Marjorie Wilson and Leon Geth, Sr. Also predeceased by her sister Marlene Copeland and husband Harold Melancon. She was educated at Granby High School and received her cosmetology certificate and license at Hick's Beauty School in Norfolk, Va. She continued her career in Norfolk, Va. as an independent cosmetologist for over 37 years and a salon owner. She was a member of Kingdom Minded Christian Center in Norfolk, Va. Esther leaved to cherish her memory four sons, Tony Geth, Johnny Geth, Michael Geth and Caleb Melancon, and three sisters Marjorie Brinkley, Angela Geth and Cynthia Tyler; five brothers, Leon Geth, Jr., James Geth, Reginald Geth, Robert Tyler and Stanley Tyler, Jr.; sister-in-law Angela Hunt; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sixteen nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. An informal memorial gathering will be held at the home of C. Tyler; 2705 Roanoke Ave, Portsmouth, Va. from 1:00-4:00pm on Saturday July 13, 2019.
