Eddie Lee Williams Jr., affectionately known as "HOSS' gained his wings early January 21, 2026. Eddie was born July 13, 1942, in Norfolk, VA to the late Eddie and Josephine Williams, Sr. Eddie was educated through the Norfolk Public Schools System. He attended the illustrious Booker T Washington High School. He was a star lineman on the football team, a core memory that he would speak of any chance he got. Eddie was fortunate in love, finding his lifelong partner, his wife Jeanette, at just 12 years old. Eddie was also fortunate enough to grow up working in his parents self-owned grocery store in the Lambert's Point area of Norfolk. He later gained employment through the Hampton Roads Shipping Association “The Corner” where he was a dedicated Longshoreman for over 30 years. Hoss began scabbing on the Waterfront in 1960, he officially became a Longshoreman on June 3, 1963. He retired in December 1998; however, he remained very active in various ILA functions until his passing. “Hoss” was instrumental in helping young people secure gainful employment on the Waterfront. The legacy of “Hoss” is one that is truly unmatched. This is one of loyalty, strength, generosity, intelligence, and humor. He was always a family man first, while he touched many lives thru his acts of kindness. Eddie fought tirelessly for many inequalities and injustices to be rectified and fair. He was very active with local politicians, alongside his good friend Councilman Paul Riddick. He was also a devout, lifelong member of the Historic Queen Street Baptist Church. Eddie was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Jeanette R Williams, his parents Eddie and Josephine Williams, his brother Samuel Williams, and his granddaughter Natasha Walston. He lives to cherish his beloved daughter, Yolanda Walston, beloved sons Michael and Brian Williams, a beloved daughter in law Pamela Clark, grandsons Dante Walston and Byron Black, granddaughters Jasminette Walston, Makayla Williams, and Kylie Williams, great grandchildren Navon Black, Brandon, Braelyn, and Bryson Reid, sister Josephine Williams, Brother Allen Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
