Master Sergent (Retired) Donald R. Keyser, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 unexpectedly, but peacefully. He is preceded by his parents Willie and Bessie Keyser. He is survived by his Loving wife of fifty-three years Marva Yvonne Keyser; two daughters, 2 sons and their spouses Valerie D. Williams (Cornell Sr), Natasha A Keyser (Lance), Donald R. Keyser, Jr (Cynthia), Kevin Carter (Lonnie), four grand children Cornell Jr (CJ), Chelsea Marie Keyser, Ashley Lauren Keyser and Joseph Edward Stacy III (Joey), two sisters Betty Meekins, Carolyn Elliott and one brother William Keyser and a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends. Donald was raised in the Lamberts Point section of Norfolk, VA. By the age of 12 he was the Local paperboy in his beloved neighborhood. He attendend Booker T. Washington High School and was named one of the fastest track stars at Booker T. Washington in 1957. After graduating Donald enlisted in the U.S Army and served his country for 28 years with a 2 year tour in the Vietnam War. For his services, Donald received many different awards, among which are the Bronze star, Purple heart, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. His last duty station was at home at Ft Eustis, VA where he retired in 1985. After retirement he worked 1 yr at the Sherriff Dept in Newport News, VA, shortly thereafter he worked at Brinks Security for 1 year then continued to serve his community as a letter carrier for 23 years with the United States Postal Service. He was an active member of St. Marks R.Z.U.A church since childhood.
