Denice Boney transitioned unexpectedly at the tender age of 69 on August 8th at Sentara Norfolk General with her children and close family members by her side. Denice was born in Norfolk, to the late Alice Boney. She graduated from Norview High School. She developed a passion for hair, thus why she later obtained her cosmetology license, and graduated from Annes Beauty Academy.

A few months ago, Denice experienced a series of health problems. She was a force to be reckoned with in sickness and in health. Denice was a fighter from the womb to the tomb, figuratively and literally. She was unfiltered and raw. Denice did things her way and created her own lane. She was not one to bite her tongue. She walked in her truth and made no excuses. She personified the phrase "standing on business"! She meant what she said and said what she meant. She was fearless! She was unapologetically "DENICE DARENIGIA BONEY." Denice walked by faith and not by sight. She was vocal about where she stood in the eyes of the Lord. She knew only God could judge and made peace with the Lord before being called home, she will truly be missed.

Denice was predeceased by her mother, Alice Boney. Her maternal grandmother Emma Bright. Her brother Alvin (Poochie) White. Her niece, Sherron White, and her grandfather Nathan Davenport.

Denice leaves to cherish her memory, her five children Roshawn Boney, Robert Battle (Danyelle), Natashia Boney, Reginald "Red" Harris (La'Keisa), who was raised and cared for by her aunt Beverly "Me-Me" Jones, and Nathan Boney. Her two sisters Karen Ore and Valicia Hunt. Seventeen grandchildren and one great grandson. Denice loved all her grandchildren with her entire heart; however, she had an incredibly special bond with Ale'sia Johnson, Amiyah Battle, Ra'Quan Battle and Tashawna Boney. She was close with all her nephews, Ronnie Todd, Breon and Donte' Ore, Michael and Derrick Boney, Darren and Arkai Monroe and Christopher Hankins. Best friends Janette (Jenny B) Monroe, whom is also her cousin, Louise Holmes, Tina Jones, and Angela Gay. Her hair stylist for over 26 years, Pamela Locust. Her personal care aide, Promise Bond.
