Darryl Cornelius Thompson, know by family and friends as "Dee" was born JANUARY 8, 1952 in Mount Olive North Carolina. He was the son of Claude and Viola Thompson, raised in Portsmouth, Virginia.  He attended Woodrow Wilson High School, where he played football.  He won a scholarship to Colorado State University where he played football for two years. Due to an injury he returned home and began work with computers.  He was a husband, father, and a jokester. He could make you laugh and keep you on your toes with his quick wit. He had a love for people and often would take in those less fortunate until they could get back on their feet.  Darryl was a kind and caring, fun loving person who will surely be missed by family and friends.  He leaves a wife, son, daughter, sister and five  grandchildren.
