Clyde Lesley Washington, Jr., a dedicated family man and everybody's favorite uncle who was affectionately known as Sweet Papa Clyde, Papa, Pops, Big Clyde, Uncle Junie, Big June, Junie Clyde, and to his wife as "Hey Man". He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran who retired from Verizon as a Cable Splicer after 30 years of service. A faithful servant and Deacon at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Clyde enjoyed helping the youth and served as a mentor and father figure to many.
He was born September 28, 1942, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Clyde Lesley Washington, Sr. and Bernice Washington. Although he had no biological siblings, his cousin William Coston and best friend Vernon Boyd were his brothers.
He departed this life on January 7, 2025, and leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 49 years, Jeraline Washington. He was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Washington and survived by his children, Monica McPhearson, Clyde Lesley Washington III, Toya Washington, Kip Washington; grandchildren, Khalil McPhearson, Arnett Finley, Jr., Saniyah Washington, Aiden Washington, Jacori Washington; and a host of extended family and friends.
Although we will miss the biggest guy in the room, the impact he left on our lives and the memories made will live on forever.
