Clarence Walton Sr. was one of six children born to the late Ida and Fletcher Walton, he was born in Hemphill, West Virginia on September 11, 1919. He joined the Army as an adult, while on active duty he served in World War II and upon discharge he moved to Newark, New Jersey. Clarence married the late Martha G. (Lawson) Walton, and were blessed with four children, Jacqueline, Cheryl, Clarence(Larry), and Jason. His love was teaching and interacting with the young ones in the family. He enjoyed passing time by drawing almost anything. He loved to fish and acquired many trophies for bowling. During his later years he moved from Newark to Norfolk,VA where he was being cared for by his son Clarence Jr. and grandson Lamar until he was called home by the Lord. He will always be known for his giving spirit, great sense of humor and deep love for his family and friends. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,brother, uncle and friend who will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves to his memory, daughters, Jacqueline Francis(Emri) and Cheryl Walton of Greensboro,NC; sons,Clarence "Larry" Walton Jr. of Norfolk,VA and Jason Walton(Dee) of Portsmouth,VA a generation of grandchildren to include, granddaughters, Jacquette, Laricia, Khaisey and Amber Walton, grandsons Lamar and A.J. Walton, and Brian Francis; great-granddaughters, Jamisha Askew and Alysandra Francis, sister, Alice Smith of Roanoke,VA; daughter in law, Diane Walton, sisters in law, Emma Williams and Rosa Valentine; nephew, James Washington as well as a host of nieces,nephews and other relatives and friends.
