Carlton Herron Sr. lovingly known as "Paw" cast his eyes on Jesus to enter into eternal rest June 30, 2017, after fighting a courageous battle. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Hattie Samuel; father, Samuel Herron, Sr; brother Vern Otis Samuel; sister, Gwinnett Waters and son, Carlton Herron Jr. Born in Valdosta, Ga., Carlton graduated from Pinevale High School to join the Navy and enjoyed a full 23 year career of service to his country. After Naval retirement, Carlton joined the Chesapeake Fire Dept. being blessed with the fruition of a childhood dream. Carlton met and married Bonita Spady in Norfolk and from this union had Carlton Jr.(Deceased), Jason and Cedrick. His third career was his grandchildren; Leah, Jasmine, Winter, Zion, Tyvaughn, Edyn, Kale, Camile and "CeYa" presenting in August. These were "Paw's Peeps" the apple of his eye. Carlton leaves to cherish his memory his mother, :Madear" Doris H. Cox; brothers; Samuel Herron (Christine) Gary Herron, Melvin Herron and sister Shirley Wheeler, Teressa Spady, Jr.(father in law) Martin Spady (Joan) Joseph Spady (Becky) Edward Spady, Roxann Kent,(Carl) and Robert Spady(Wendy). Also he leaves to cherish his memory "daughters" Patricia Riddick, Autumn No Runner Herron, Patrina Herron and LaToya Askew, also a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Heartland Hospice and all the hand that touched him and prayed for him.
