Brandon Lee Hammonds Jr., age 22, of Virginia Beach, VA was born on May 14, 2003, in Roanoke Rapids, NC, Brandon brought light, laughter, and a deep sense of love to all who knew him. Brandon passed away on August 27, 2025.

Brandon grew up in Norfolk, VA, where he attended Norfolk Public Schools. He was known for his easygoing spirit, warm smile, silliness, his love of basketball, and deep love for his siblings, with whom he shared countless memories. Brandon found peace and joy near the water. Whether at the beach, by the bay, or along a quiet riverbank, he felt most at home surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents Shawnell Carlisle (Stepfather Antoine Giddings) (Norfolk, VA) and Brandon Hammonds Sr. (Virginia Beach, VA); his siblings, Aurora Sabrina Pride, Tyshawn Roaishan Rogers, Breshawn Lee Hammonds, Jayshawn Lee Hammonds, and Anthony Lee Hammonds, all of Norfolk, and step siblings Antoine Giddings Jr (California) and Jaida Giddings (Virginia Beach).; his grandparents, Berthel Carlisle Bunch (Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina), Sylvia Howell and husband Roger Howell (Norfolk), and Norman Lewis (Honolulu, Hawaii); Great Grandmother Carolyn Carlisle (Norfolk); beloved aunts, Shawnedra "Nina" Carlisle of (Norfolk), Sherika "Rika" Carlisle (Weldon, NC), Shaquita "Quita" Bunch (Roanoke Rapids, NC), Kristy Hammonds (Virginia Beach, VA), Tawney Kramer (Fairview Heights, IL), and his Uncle Ashton Richardson (Norfolk, VA). He will also be deeply missed by his godfather James Graham, his special uncle James Wallace, and his best friend Sincere Wilson all of Virginia, and a host of cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Anthony Hammonds of North Carolina.

As we say goodbye, we imagine Brandon at peace by the water he loved so dearly his spirit as endless and free as the waves, forever flowing in the hearts of those who cherish him.
