Beverly Delores Ashburne Burt, 83, of Norfolk, departed this life June 19th, 2014. A native of Norfolk, she was born August 4, 1930 to the late Floyd and Luzetta Ashburne. She was married to the late Thomas Burt Jr. on November 21, 1949. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and received her degree from Norfolk State University. She retired as a School Teacher from Norfolk City Schools and was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church. Beverly is predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn Burt Bowman. Her surviving children are Michael Burt(Barbara)of Stafford,VA, Reonard Burt of Norfolk, VA., Denise Burt-Tillman of Alexandria, VA., Gale Hooker(Joseph) of Stafford, VA and Derrick Burt(Anita) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Beverly was predeceased by 2 brothers, and 6 sisters, but is survived by 1 brother and 2 sisters. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.
