Bernard Daniel Cole passed quietly and peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Bernard Daniel Cole, the son of the late Henry Clay Cole and Virginia Anderson Cole was born on September 19, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was educated in the Norfolk Public School Systems. He joined the United States Marine Corps, but after a brief stint he was honorably discharged. He had an early retirement from General Foam Plastics Corporation as a security officer.

He is proceeded in death by Carolyn Moye Gilliam, "the love of his life," and a sister, Linda Cole Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Dr. Adrienne Cole-Williams; one son Anthony Waye Haskins (Angela); one sister, retired the Honorable Patricia Cole, one brother, Maurice F. Cole; 6 grandchildren, Lauren Batchler Awogu, Aleisha Williams, Adrianna Williams, Alexis Williams, Anthony Haskins, Jr. and Keenen Haskins; and 6 great-grandchildren, Dominic Batchler, Skylar Batchler, Alexandria Awogu, Isaac Awogu, Daniel Cole Awogu, and Matthias Amir Williams. He will be missed by a host of relatives and friends.
