Audrey C. Williams went home to be with the Lord, December 28, 2014 in Chesapeake, VA. She was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church and a mother to many. She inspired all with her unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Born in Portsmouth, VA she was the daughter of Edward Colden and Edith Mae Cuffee Colden, and a proud graduate of I.C. Norcom High School, a classmate and cherished friend of late Portsmouth Mayor Jim Holley and well known singer Ruth Brown. Audrey leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children Leo V. Williams, III, Audrey W. Avery and Michael E. Williams; her loving siblings Doris C. Hunter, Velma C. Johnson and Harry L. Colden; precious grandchildren, Leo V. Williams IV, Loren Williams, Tiffany M. Avery and Alexis M. Avery; doting great grandchildren Leo V. Williams V, London Rose Williams and Avery M. Grimes; and a whole host of other caring relatives and friends who extend the family. Audrey dedicated her life to motherhood, family, nurturing and the church. She walked with style, grace and purpose while holding her head highshe did it her way. Strong, INDEPENDENT, sweet, loving and a smile that could light up a room. The memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
